This photo is of one of the many things getting some attention after many years of neglect. This was a hole deep enough to cause a prop strike. Below is what it looked like before the repair. Notice the many different patches that we not getting the job done.

All of this work is being completed by volunteers. You might think about how you can help. Make a suggestion if you have an idea. Send it to flyingacreshoa@gmail.com.

Here a list of things that have happened since we bought the airport in no particular order!

  • Setup QuickBooks for accounting

  • Invoiced all renters

  • A crew of homeowners mowed the grass.

  • Replaced the nearly non-existent windsock

  • Patched several holes in the asphalt including the one noted above.

  • Cleared various type of debris from around the office

  • Removed overgrown bushes next to the office

  • Replaced tiles that were damaged by a water leak in the office

  • Got the fuel pumps working

  • Ordered and received a load of fuel

There is plenty more to do. Do you have heavy equipment that you could use to remove blackberries and scotch broom? Do you have a skill like accounting, business development, or project management that could help guide us over the next few months? Do you have construction knowledge that could provide insight into hangar improvement? We have a lot of resources available and talent living in Flying Acres. Please share them with your neighbors! Email the board at flyingacreshoa@gmail.com.

Now for couple more photos.
